Hollyoaks star Anna Passey has teased trouble in paradise for Sienna Blake and Ethan Williams, confirming that some new arrivals will throw something of a ‘spanner’ in the works for the popular couple.
Sienna, as viewers know, has been dating Ethan for a number of months now, with the characters having hit it off last year, leaving fans hopeful of a longterm future for the two.
The couple, known to die-hard fans as Ethenna, has garnered quite a loyal online following, who will no doubt be upset to find out more on what’s to come.
Anna, however, has assured us that the storyline in question is an ‘exciting’ one, which will leave us ‘rooting’ for Ethan and Sienna, and we don’t know about you, but that’s us sold already.
‘There’s a really exciting storyline to come soon,’ the soap icon told Metro.co.uk. ‘We see Ethan and Sienna in one of their classic schemes and one that’s going to end up really testing them as a couple.
‘We’re going to have some brand new characters on the scene that are going to throw a few spanners in the works but we’re obviously rooting for Ethan and Sienna to come out on top.’

Anna, who is the very definition of soap royalty in our book, is up for Best Leading Performer at this year’s British Soap Awards, and she couldn’t be more excited about the nomination.
‘It’s a real honour to be put in the leading performer category,’ she exclaimed. ‘And it’s been so lovely to have lots of the fans commenting on it and seeing the votes come in is really heart-warming.’

Discussing her excitement for the awards do, Anna told us that she hasn’t picked an outfit just yet, adding that she likes to ‘leave it to about one day before and then panic’, and honestly, we’ve got no choice but to stan.
‘In all seriousness though I saw one dress yesterday that I thought would be really amazing, so I’m going to have a look at that and see if that might be the one,’ she said.

Hollyoaks, which has had something of a monumental year with shock twists and compelling storylines aplenty, is up for Best Soap at the ceremony.
‘I think every year people should vote for Hollyoaks as Best Soap but in particular this year because we’ve had some incredible storylines and some of the performances this year have been absolutely outstanding,’ concluded Anna.
‘I think that people should vote for us based on the strength of the performances and some amazing storylines.’
