How much spending money you will need per day to visit Amsterdam depends on several factors such as what you plan to do, your accommodation preferences and how you like to travel. 

Amsterdam is known to be a relatively expensive city compared to other cities in Europe. But there are some tips around eating out and travel that could cut back on how much money you will need each day. 

We suggest budget travellers can expect to spend around €50-€70 per day on food, transportation, and attractions. This will cover basic meals, public transportation and entrance fees to some museums and attractions. 

If you want a little more luxury or want to take advantage of the thriving nightlife or shopping scene, you will have to consider how that will affect your budget.

We’d suggest you spend around €106 (£94) per day on a trip to Amsterdam. This is a really mid-range trip, which would allow you most of the major attractions, a bit of shopping, a big night out and a few fancy restaurants.

If food isn’t a top priority to you, consider street food instead of restaurants – but for some people, dining is an important part of travelling, so if this isn’t an area you want to cut back on, look for other places you could make cuts.
