Katherine Ryan’s appearance on Late Night Lycett couldn’t have gone further from planned after the barge she was on began floating down the canal. Yep, really.
The comedian, 39, was booked as one of the celebrity guests for the debut episode of the Channel 4 show, along with Dame Joanna Lumley, 76, Alan Carr, 46, and Alison Hammond, 48.
But while Dame Joanna, Alan, and Alison were able to play a variety of games live in the studio in Birmingham, Katherine was stuck on a boat that became unmoored during the programme.
Towards the end of the episode, Joe got wind of Katherine’s unfortunate predicament via a message in his earpiece, prompting him to alert viewers at home.
Distracted by the unusual glitch, he said: ‘Katherine is technically with us.. just getting further and further… there’s a fast-flowing current tonight.’
