Phillip Schofield’s younger brother Timothy Schofield, 54, has been charged with 11 counts of sexual offences against a schoolboy.
Timothy, of Bath, stood trial in a crown court on Monday for charges related to the alleged abuse of a teenage boy over the course of three years, beginning in October 2016.
Timothy, who denies all charges, is alleged to have committed the offences while working for Avon and Somerset Police.
MailOnline reports that Timothy stands accused of causing the teenager in question to ‘engage in and watch sex acts’.
Phillip’s younger brother arrived at Exeter Crown Court wearing a grey shirt and when the charges were read out is said to have shaken his head.
On Monday, jurors heard that Timothy was eventually confronted by the alleged victim in 2021.

Prosecutor Peter Stellard KC opened the case this week and said: ‘This is a case about the obsessive sexual interest of Timothy Schofield in [his alleged victim] and the subsequent sexual abuse of that teenage boy.’
The alleged victim told a counsellor about the abuse and they alerted police, resulting in Timothy’s arrest.
Timothy was arrested on December 3, 2021, and his house was raided.
Revealing to jurors that Timothy had a famous sibling, Mrs Justice Johanna Cutts said: ‘His brother is Phillip Schofield, and he happens to be the well-known television personality.
‘I say “happens to be” as that fact has no relevance at all in this case.
‘The fact that he is the defendant’s brother changes nothing in this trial, the defendant will be tried in the same fair way as every other defendant.’
