Manchester United remain interested in signing Goncalo Ramos with the Benfica star growing impatient with the club over their failure to offer him an improved contract.
Ramos is one of a number of options being considered at Old Trafford with the club making the signing of a new striker a top priority this summer.
21-year-old Ramos has netted 23 goals already this season, also chipping in with 10 assists having crept onto United’s radar after his stunning hat-trick against Switzerland at the World Cup.
According to Record, however, the striker has been left ‘very disappointed’ with Benfica’s failure to reward that fine form with a new contract.
Last summer, club president Rui Costa is said to have promised the player a salary increase which has still not materialised.
Benfica collected £85million from Liverpool after cashing in on Darwin Nunez last summer with Chelsea paying a Premier League record fee of £106m fee to sign Enzo Fernandez in January.
Ramos is thought to have a similar release clause to Fernandez which could leave United needing to pay big should they move for the Portugal international.

United have already been told they will need to pay £100m to sign Harry Kane this summer.
The England captain is in the final year of his contract but Tottenham have not given up hope of him signing a new deal and believe that huge valuation will dissuade United from making a move.
Napoli’s Victor Osimhen is also a target but recent reports in Italy have claimed the Serie A leaders will not listen to offers below €150m.

United are also considering a move for Atalanta forward Rasmus Højlund after being impressed with his rapid development this season.
The 20-year-old joined the Serie A club from Sturm Graz last summer for a fee of around £15m and he’s paid back the trust shown in him by scoring eight times in 23 appearances this season.
Danish publication Ekstra Bladet say United are monitoring the striker with a view to bidding for him this summer.
