In a twist of events no one saw coming, Taylor Swift got brought up in Gwyneth Paltrow’s ski crash trial.
Ms Paltrow is being sued by retired optometrist Terry Sanderson over a collision at the Deer Valley resort in Utah in 2016.
She is accused of ‘slamming’ into Mr Sanderson on a ski slope and falling on top of him, leaving him with several broken ribs and a severe concussion.
The Goop founder has denied the allegations, claiming that Mr Sanderson collided with her, and is counter-suing him.
While Mr Sanderson’s defence is seeking damages of up to $3,276,000 (£2,666,828), Ms Paltrow is asking for one dollar, along with costs for legal fees.
However, Mr Sanderson’s lawyers have implied that the actress was somewhat inspired by Ms Swift’s own previous court case in the damages she’s seeking.

Cast your mind back to 2012, as the Shake It Off hitmaker won her countersuit against former Colorado D.J. David Mueller, whom she had accused of groping her in a photo op.
The singer asked him to pay her ‘a symbolic’ one dollar, which she finally received four months after the verdict.
Now, Ms Paltrow has denied that she was counterclaiming for one dollar because of a similar lawsuit brought by the US pop star.
‘I had not been familiar with it, but I now am,’ she said.
‘It’s an actual dollar that I’m asking for. It’s symbolic because the damages would actually be more.’
Asked if she and Ms Swift were friends, she replied: ‘I would not say we’re good friends, we are friendly… but we don’t talk very often.’

Elsewhere in her testimony, Ms Paltrow claimed she was, in fact, the ‘victim’ of the collision on the slopes.
The Oscar-winning actress said she did ‘not believe’ the testimony of previous witnesses and that her version of events was ‘categorically’ the truth.
She denied that she had been engaging in ‘risky behaviour’ on the day of the crash and reiterated multiple times that she had been skied into from behind by Mr Sanderson.
‘What you have to remember is that when you’re a victim of a crash, your psychology is not necessarily thinking about the person who perpetrated it,’ she said when asked whether she had concerns for Mr Sanderson’s welfare following the incident.
