Coronation Street stars were out in force recently as they came together to support Ian Puleston-Davies’ film director debut.
The actor, who played Owen Armstrong from 2010-2015, also wrote the film Bolan’s Shoes, which premiered at the Manchester Film Festival on March 18.
Set in the 70s, the film stars Timothy Spall, Leanne Best and Andrew Lancel and follows a group of youngers on a trip to see the legendary Marc Bolan at Manchester’s Free Trade Hall.
However, they are then involved in a major tragedy which will change their lives forever.

Ian was joined by the likes of Katie McGlynn, Lisa George (Beth Tinker), Mikey North (Gary Windass), John Thomson (Jesse Chadwick) and Scott Wright (Sam Kingston) for the big event.
And it sounds like it was a huge success, with Katie – who played Sinead Tinker in the ITV soap – posting on her Instagram and praising her friend.
‘Manchester Film Festival for the premiere of Bolan’s Shoes was mesmerising’, she wrote.
‘Written and directed by the incredibly talented and overall superstar @ipd_ian, I was honestly blown away… the cast, the cinematography, the writing….just so so brilliant! Definitely a must see’.

Ian has had a variety of roles since leaving Coronation Street.
Most recently he appeared in Silent Witness and ITV’s DI Ray, and can currently be seen in popular crime drama The Bay, playing a mysterious character called Terry.
Ian’s Corrie character, Owen, departed Weatherfield after being involved in the complicated storyline with Pat Phelan.
He moved to Aberdeen after accepting the offer of work from a friend.
