Hugh Grant has been spotted in New York for the first time since going viral after his painfully awkward red carpet interview at the Oscars.
The Notting Hill star was stopped for a chat by model Ashley Graham, who was interviewing attendees for ABC, and seemed totally disinterested in the runway star’s questions.
Their interaction saw him answer most of her questions in three words or less, and when she asked him what he was wearing, he hilariously (and incredibly bluntly) replied: ‘My suit’.
Fans were a little taken aback by their rather brief chat (is he rude or is he just British, was one question doing the rounds online), but the actor was all smiles as he was spotted leaving the ABC Studio in the Big Apple on Wednesday.
Hugh, 62, took the opportunity for a quick phone call as he left the building, but flashed a smile to waiting fans and photographers.
He was dressed in a dark blue blazer, light blue shirt and dark jeans with a navy scarf to protect from the cold, as he continued on the promotional trail for new film Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves.

Sharon Osbourne and Piers Morgan also weighed in on Hugh’s responses during his interview with Ashley on Sunday during Tuesday’s episode of Uncensored, sharing their disapproval by branding him ‘out of order’.
‘I love Hugh Grant but he was out of order,’ insisted Sharon.
Continuing despite Piers’ interruptions, she said: ‘I think he’s a great actor, I will say the thing is if you don’t want to talk to press, if you’re bored by it all, don’t do the red carpet. That’s the way it is.’
Piers didn’t hold back either, labelling Hugh a ‘d***’.

‘Maybe I shouldn’t have used the D-word but to me he just behaved like a d***. He just treated Ashley Graham I felt with total disrespect.
‘And he pretended like the job of somebody on the red carpet, if you’re an actor at the Oscars is not to talk to the media, or if you have to, look like you’re sucking lemons.’
Despite viewers cringing over the clip, Ashley took the interview in her stride and shrugged it off.
She told a reporter: ‘My mama told me to kill people with kindness’.

Speaking to TMZ, she said that she had ‘so much fun’ at the star-studded event. ‘My feet hurt though.’
Elsewhere during her awkward chat at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Hugh described the Oscars as ‘vanity fair’ before adding that he was excited to see ‘no one in particular’.

He also admitted that he could not remember the name of his tailor when Ashley asked him who designed his outfit before she asked him about his cameo in Rian Johnson’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
But Hugh wasn’t in the mood for playing ball, and quipped: ‘Well I’m barely in it, I was in it for about three seconds.’
Dungeons & Dragons: Honour Among Thieves is in cinemas from Friday, March 31.
