Breakout Napoli star Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has been linked with a string of big clubs across Europe, but it is Real Madrid that he would love to play for at some stage, says his agent.
The Georgian forward has scored 10 goals in Napoli’s remarkable Serie A campaign so far, which sees the club sit comfortably at the top of the table, 18 points clear of their closest rivals.
The 22-year-old arrived from Dinamo Batumi in the Georgian league last year with little fanfare but has been one of the surprise success stories in European football this campaign and has attracted plenty of attention from other clubs.
The likes of Chelsea, Newcastle, Manchester City and Liverpool have all been touted as possible destinations for Kvaratskhelia, but it is the Bernabeu that he would like to call home at some point.
Although he is also in no rush to leave Napoli, with the team in stunning form this season, not only heading towards the Serie A title, but also competing for Champions League glory as well.
‘His father and I are Barca fans, but Kvara loves Real Madrid,’ the player’s agent told Geo Team. ‘If I see him in a Barca shirt I’ll be happy, but he’s Madridista.
‘Napoli director asks me not to be in a hurry. Kvara likes everything in Napoli.’
Napoli would certainly like to keep hold of him, with manager Luciano Spalletti comparing him to Liverpool superstar Mo Salah, and the Georgian being touted as a player worth €100 million (£87m).
Former Juventus director Luciano Moggi reckons that if Romelu Lukaku is worth that amount of money, then Kvaratskhelia is definitely worth more.
‘It’s always obnoxious to give values to players, because he’s as strong as the ones they sell. But he is obviously worth more than €100m,’ Moggi told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, via Football Italia.
‘Because if Lukaku cost that much, and he can’t stop a ball, then those who have technique must be worth more.’
