Fury vowed to never appear on the show again (Picture: True Geordie)
Tyson Fury lost his cool in an interview with True Geordie, labelling the YouTube personality a ‘t****r’ for questioning his December showdown against Derek Chisora.
Fury is set to defend his WBC heavyweight title on 3 December against Chisora, a man he beat in 2011 before stopping him in a rematch three years later.
While Chisora remains a popular fighter, there was little appetite among boxing fans for the fight, with 37-year-old losing three of his last four fights with few viewing him as a legitimate threat to ‘The Gypsy King’.
It comes after Fury and Anthony Joshua were unable to agree terms for a long-awaited Battle of Britain, with that fight falling by the wayside.
True Geordie, real name Brian Davis, pushed Fury on concerns over the Chisora fight, labelling it a ‘mismatch’. A visibly annoyed Fury responded: ‘No matter what you say, or what people like you want to say about Derek Chisora, he’s achieved more in boxing and in fighting than 10 men like you could ever achieve.
‘So I’m not going to just let you sit here and slate somebody who’s fought the best fighters of this era just because he’s lost a few fights.
‘It is what it is. I’ll be fighting Chisora … and if you don’t want to watch it then please don’t, and if you do, tune in.
‘And if you don’t want to buy a ticket, don’t buy a ticket. And if you do, be like the rest of the 50-odd, 60-odd thousand that’s already bought tickets.’
Chisora has lost 12 of his 33 professional fights and while he secured an encouraging win over Kubrat Pulev in July, previous defeats to Joseph Parker (twice), Oleksandr Usyk, Dillian Whyte (twice) led to True Geordie suggesting the Londoner should not have found himself in line for a title shot.
As the interview was wrapping up, True Geordie thanked Fury for his time, only for the heavyweight champion to launch a late volley of abuse and vowing never to appear on the show again.
‘I think you’re a tosser. You little tosspot. And I won’t be doing any more interviews with you little tosspot, bearded, bald-headed tosser. Kiss my b***s, you little w****r. You little sh*thouse,’ Fury said.
As Fury attempted to end the call, True Geordie asked if was having trouble finding the button to hang up, with the champion replying: ‘Suck a d**k’.
After the call had ended, True Geordie admitted he was ‘very glad’ the interview was held on video call rather than in person, suggesting ‘that could’ve been a painful end to my life.’
