Jamie Carragher believes Liverpool have ‘serious problems’ following their embarrassing 2-1 defeat to Leeds United at Anfield on Saturday.
Rodrigo gave the away side an early lead as Mohamed Salah levelled things up in the first-half but Crysencio Summerville secured victory for Jesse Marsch’s team in the 89th minute to end Liverpool’s 29-game unbeaten home run in the top-flight.
The result means Liverpool, who won a domestic cup double last season and were two games away from an unprecedented quadruple, are down to ninth in the Premier League – winning just four of their opening 12 top-flight games this term.
Jurgen Klopp’s side have already lost twice as many Premier League games as in the whole of the last campaign while only 17th-placed Southampton have conceded the first goal in more top-flight games than Liverpool this season.
‘It’s a huge result for Leeds but Liverpool have got massive problems, Carragher told Sky Sports.
‘Leeds’ fans know how big a result this is. It’s so long since anyone’s won at Anfield.
‘They’re going to milk it and rightly so. It will do wonders for them, in terms of the league table. This isn’t a blip for Liverpool, this is a serious problem.

‘There’s no doubt that the goalkeeper in the last 10-15 minutes has kept Leeds in it but if you look at the whole game you can’t say Leeds haven’t deserved to get something from it. They’ve been fantastic.
‘Klopp must be thinking, what else can I try now? Different permutations, formations, personnel…’
Liverpool have a big week coming up, hosting Napoli in their final Champions League group game on Tuesday before a trip to Tottenham on Sunday.
The Reds have already qualified for the knockout stages and are likely to rest players before their blockbuster clash against Antonio Conte’s third-placed Spurs.
