Amelia feels the emotions (Picture: ITV)
Harriet’s (Katherine Dow Blyton) shock death has rocked Emmerdale, not least for poor Amelia (Daisy Campbell), who is bearing the weight of guilt in Emmerdale.
Amelia is not only coping with the loss of a loved one, but also the knowledge that the former vicar died trying to save her – had she not foolishly walked out into that storm heavily pregnant, Harriet would never have been on the treacherous quad bike in the first place.
She had prioritised a picnic date with Noah (Jack Downham) over the safety of her unborn child. When Amelia was left stranded in a barn and in labour, Harriet sprang into action and was ultimately crushed by the quad bike when things took a terrible turn.
The death of Harriet is felt far and wide, and when the day of the funeral arrives the village is awash with grief. Amelia is having a tough time coping, but bravely stands up to give a heartfelt speech about her fallen friend. Dan (Liam Fox) is touched and proud by her words, but they leave him an emotional wreck.

He too is being eaten by grief, what ifs, and questioning what he knew to be true. He turns to the bottle to cope and begins to question whether Harriet truly loved him.
But comfort comes from an unlikely source when Will (Dean Andrews) sits down with him and offers reassurances that Harriet cared deeply for him, despite secretly knowing the truth.
Dan is left with a small semblance of a smile at the thought Harriet did truly care while Will masks his own pain at the loss.
