Sheamus is missing this week’s SmackDown for his wedding (Picture: WWE)
WWE superstar Sheamus has got married – and his fellow wrestler Drew McIntyre appeared to served as his best man.
The Celtic Warrior was written off television on SmackDown last week at the hands of GUNTHER and his Imperium group with the company giving him some time off for the nuptials.
Former WWE star Lana – real name CJ Perry – was in attendance for the special day alongside her husband Rusev, who now works for rival company All Elite Wrestling (AEW) as Miro.
She tweeted a photo from the ceremony on Friday, posting a green heart emoji and adding: ‘Congrats @WWESheamus and Isabella!!!! So happy for you guys’.
In the picture from the romantic outdoor ceremony, Irishman Sheamus can be seen in a kilt as he holds hands with his bride, while Scotsman McIntyre can be seen stood nearby as his best man.
Meanwhile, Rusev was also there as a groomsman.
Fans have been quick to flood Lana’s post with messages of support for the newlyweds, who are yet to post about the wedding themselves.
‘Congrats to the happy couple! Glad to see Drew and Miro up there,’ wrote one fan, as another added: ‘Congrats to Sheamus and his wife Isabella!! So happy for them’.
And a third person tweeted: ‘Drew looks incredibly happy. That is a real best friend’.
Sheamus, Drew and Rusev all go way back and were actually previously connected on screen as members of the League of Nations group.
Meanwhile, McIntyre is also set to miss SmackDown given he’s at the nuptials on Friday, and Sheamus’ absence means his Brawling Brutes teammates will look to avenge him against Imperium’s Giovanni Vinci and Ludwig Kaiser.
Imperium will battle Ridge Holland and Butch on tonight’s show, with the likes of Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, Bray Wyatt and more all set to appear on the broadcast.
WWE SmackDown airs Friday nights at 1am on BT Sport 1.
