Once you look at the list of stars who’ve rocked a beehive, it becomes pretty clear that it’s a style synonymous with icons.

Adele, Pasty Stone, Holly Golightly, Amy Winehouse.

They went for gravity-defying height and structure, to stand out from the crowd.

And while it might have been a staple style in the 60s, the beehive has reappeared over the years on those bold enough to wear it.

And now, the beehive looks set to be making a comeback – and we’re so ready for it.

Sales of hairspray are up 67% compared to this time last year, and the experts at blow dry bar, Duck & Dry, have dubbed it ‘one of the most loved styles’ this season.

It’s a slightly softer, loser ‘do, seen on the likes of Michelle Keegan, Kim Kardashian and Sex Education’s Amiee Lou Wood – but has no less star power.

We spoke to a senior stylist at Duck & Dry, to find out how to get the look:

    1. The key to a good beehive is expertly done backcombing, so backcomb dry hair in small sections, to ensure the volume stays in place for longer. The smaller the backcombed sections are, the bigger the beehive becomes and the longer your updo lasts.

    2. Start from the top of the hair strands working your way down to the root. Continue doing that evenly across the hair strands.

    3. The secret tool for every beehive is a dry texture spray, to create the must-have texture and grip, volume and hold. Our go-to is Duck & Dry OOMPH! Dry Volume & Texture Spray.

    4. Then, once you’ve backcombed your hair, bring all the sections back, smooth, and shape the beehive, before clip into place using bobby pins.

    5. To last all night – Fix your style in place with a hairspray.
