Presenter Roman Kemp has praised ITV for helping him when he was struggling after his I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! stint.
The 29-year-old took part in the bushtucker trials in 2019, coming third to Corrie’s Andy Whyment who came runner-up and winner Jacqueline Jossa.
Roman, who has previously been open about his struggles with depression, said ITV found him a therapist who ‘helped to save his life’.
Speaking about his time in therapy, the radio DJ shared: ‘This image people have of laying down on a long black leather chair, it’s not that.
‘Just before I went into I’m A Celeb there was one who was amazing.’
He added to The Sun: ‘She was part of the reason that saved my life and it was ITV and I’m A Celeb who gave me her.
‘I struggled hugely when I came out of there.’

This comes after Roman admitted that singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran helped him through his battle with depression.
In a new interview, Roman revealed: ‘Ed told me there’s dirty water at the top and the more you let it flow it turns into clear water.
‘Each time I speak about how I feel, the water gets clearer.’

In March 2021, Roman released a documentary on BBC Three titled Roman Kemp: Our Silent Emergency, after the death of his friend, and Capital Radio producer, Joe Lyons.
Reflecting on the death of his friend, Roman, who is the son of Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp, also admitted that he was ‘still processing his death’.
‘Every day I step foot back in the Capital studios, I’m back in the worst situation I have ever lived in my life. I have flashbacks all the time,’ he told The Sunday Mirror.

‘Per one suicide, 140 people are affected. Joe’s affected a lot of people. I’m sure he’ll be proud of what we’re doing but I still f**king hate him for it. He was the furthest thing from a suicidal person.’
The star shared that he felt most people ‘put a mask on and we don’t have a clue what’s going on’.
Roman is set to release a book – titled Are You Really Okay? – later this month, which will tackle the stigma around mental health and see the radio host open up further about his own difficult experiences.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! returns on Sunday, November 6 at 9pm on ITV.
