A Scot broke bail and risked months in jail in a desperate attempt Calvin Harris tickets back.

For the sake of seeing the I Need Your Love DJ, Sinead Lovie violated a ban on contacting her former boyfriend to demand he gives back her pal Lucy’s tickets.

The 22-year-old texted Michael O’Brien in Perth: ‘Hope you’re happy with yourself. Lucy needs those tickets.

‘Give them to her. I don’t care about mine.’

O’Brien knew who was messaging him straight away, Perth Sheriff Court heard, and reported the law-breaking contact to the police on July 2.

Harris, a dance music producer, was set to perform at Hampden Park National Stadium in Glasgow that day.

Officers arrived at Lovie’s house to grill her about the text, fiscal depute, a Scottish public prosecutor, Sarak Wilkinson told the court.

Lovie told the police at the time: ‘Is this about Lucy’s tickets?

‘I texted Michael. I panicked and texted him.’

Solicitor Paul Ralph, defending, said: ‘Calvin Harris tickets were the hot topic.

‘The friend, Lucy, was expecting them as a birthday gift.

‘Having left the house she was seeking to recover both of the tickets and post them on to her friend.’

Sheriff James Macdonald said: ‘The essence of this offence is a single electronic communication. In light of that, I am going to defer sentence.

‘Having heard the facts I take the view that it would be disproportionate to impose a non-harassment order.’

Lovie admitted to breaching bail, which had been handed down on March 18, by sending the single text message to her ex.

In Scotland, if any conditions of bail are breached without reasonable excuse, the accused could face a maximum of 12 months in prison.

Contacting certain people are among those ‘special conditions’ imposed by the court.
