Sami Zayn has made no secret of his love for the Great British Bake Off and he’s desperate to land himself a spot in the iconic tent.
The WWE superstar – who hasn’t seen any of the current series because it’s not started airing in Canada yet – can’t get enough of the baking competition, and he is still keen to appear on a celebrity edition one day.
He exclusively told Metro.co.uk: ‘I know there’s a new season going on right now, but I haven’t seen any of it yet because it’s on American Netflix, I’m in Canada at the moment. So no spoilers!
‘But one day, one day I’ll get on there. Me and Noel [Fielding] will hang out, crack a few jokes. Paul [Hollywood] can judge my sub-par vegan banana bread or whatever it is. One of these days!’
Sami has told us all about his Bake Off dreams before, and admitted he might need a bit of practice to really hone his skills to the standard needed to impress Paul and Dame Prue Leith.
‘I’d have to practice a little bit! Also, being vegan I guess I’d have to wonder if I could use dairy products, or if I would use dairy products. I don’t know – it would be very interesting,’ he said.

‘I know they do a vegan week sometimes, but it’s few and far between. Anywho, I’d have to practice a little bit because I haven’t baked very much – ever, actually. But still, it’d be awesome!’
The former Intercontinental Champion certainly knows his stuff, and he is a huge fan of 2018 winner Rahul Mandal, having heaped praise on the star baker and engineering researcher.
‘It’s funny, my wife and I will still kinda joke about Rahul from a few seasons ago,’ he laughed. ‘I think he’s one of the best TV characters of all time, from any show! What a great character. It’s so funny, it’s a great show!’

Sami will have to do his best to avoid spoilers this weekend as WWE returns to Europe as part of a tour which sees the company roll into Glasgow this weekend.
The live shows come during an exciting time for Sami, whose work with The Bloodline is positioning him as a major part of WWE’s programming with some huge shows on the horizon.
‘This tour coming up this week, coming back to Glasgow for the first time in a while, coming back to Switzerland, Germany. Then right after that, we’ve got Survivor Series almost right round the corner, and then we’ve got the Royal Rumble which is gonna be huge,’ he beamed.
From there, Elimination Chamber comes to his hometown of Montreal, Quebec, Canada in February 2023, followed by WrestleMania 39 in Hollywood in April.
‘It’s a really, really exciting time for me and I’m very thankful that I’m in a pretty good position at the moment to enjoy it all,’ he added, noting he hopes by the hometown show he’s still involved with The Bloodline and everything that entails.
‘Fingers crossed we do this forever,’ he smiled. ‘I personally like a bit of a smorgasbord, so to speak. I like to offer a little bit of everything, when I can. I like to offer a little bit of comedy, a little bit of emotion, quality action – I just think that’s when wrestling’s at its best, actually.
‘You have all these elements all going simultaneously with great storytelling, great characters, some good laughs, some great matches. You just mix all that together, it’s a can’t miss formula! That’s what I like as a fan, so that’s what I try to put out when I perform.’
WWE returns to the UK at Glasgow’s OVO Hydro on October 30.
