‘Zombie Angelina Jolie’ has finally revealed her real face on Iranian TV after she was released from ‘Iran’s toughest prison’.
Sahar Tabar, 21, from Tehran, whose real name is Fatemeh Khishvand, was jailed after she tricked social media into thinking she had received plastic surgery to look like the ‘zombie version’ of the film star.
The viral photos landed her a 10-year jail sentence in 2020 after the authorities accused her of ‘corruption’ and ‘blasphemy’.
But Tabar was released after serving just 14 months, and has now shown her natural self to the world.
Appearing on state-run TV, she confirmed her photos were altered on a computer in a bid to become famous.
‘Cyberspace was an easy way. It was much easier than becoming an actor,’ she said.
The 21-year-old now wants to stop using photoshop and has expressed regret at posting the photos.
She added: ‘My mother was telling me to stop, but I didn’t listen. Sometimes the words of a stranger or a friend can be more important than those of a parent.

Tabar was sentenced to ten years in jail, but got released after 14 months
‘I’m sure I will not even put Instagram on my phone anymore, let alone have a page.’
Tabar’s release comes as unrest spreads across the country following the death of Mahsa Amini, who was reportedly killed by Iran’s ‘morality police’ for not wearing her hijab properly.
At the time, Tabar was behind bars in Qarchak Prison, which has no functioning sewer and houses twice the number of inmates it was built for.

During her time there Tabar ended up on a ventilator after contracting coronavirus as it spread rapidly through the prison, which did not supply masks or sanitary items.
Activist Masih Alinejad wrote after she was sentenced in 2020: ‘Sahar Tabar is only 19. Her joke landed her in jail.
‘Her mother cries every day to get her innocent daughter freed. Dear Angelina Jolie, we need your voice here. Help us.’
