Kanye West escorted out of Skechers after turning up uninvited
Ye – formerly known as Kanye West – was reportedly escorted out of a Sketchers office in Los Angeles after he showed up “unannounced and uninvited.”
The company released a statement saying they had “no intention” of working with Ye.
It comes just a day after Adidas cut ties with Ye over his string of antisemitic statements – a deal that cost Ye $1.5 billion, meaning the rapper is no longer a billionaire.
In a statement Sketchers said Ye had arrived at its offices with a party and was “engaged in unauthorised filming”.
The party were escorted from the building after a brief chat. The brand said: “We condemn his recent divisive remarks and do not tolerate antisemitism or any other form of hate speech.”
It added: “We again stress that West showed up unannounced and uninvited.”
Ye’s recent behaviour has led to a string on big brands dropping contracts with the rapper in recent months and many famous partnerships have cut ties.
But Adidas is without a doubt the biggest financial loss for Ye. The Adidas-Yeezy collaboration had been hugely successful and will cost the German footwear brand an estimated net loss of $247m – but it’ll cost Ye more, $1.5b, and it appears he may struggle to find another company to take on Yeezy.
Adidas dropped Ye after leaked footage from a Podcast episode that was later deleted, showed the rapper saying “ “I can say antisemitic s—- and Adidas cannot drop me.”
