Johnny Depp slipped back into his Captain Jack Sparrow ways to surprise a delighted fan.

The 59-year-old first played the iconic character in Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl in 2003.

His character was hugely popular with viewers, and he reprised the role in the following five movies.

Though there is little chance of the Hollywood star making a return to the franchise, despite rumors of a $301million deal, he proved that the pirate is never far behind.

In footage from social media, Depp could be seen greeting a fan who expressed their love for the iconic character.

Without skipping a beat, he responded as Captain Jack and joked about rum, leaving them thrilled.

Fans were living for the sweet glimpse and rushed to praise the actor in the comments below on TikTok.

‘It threw me off him with no facial hair and of course hes an awesome, he’s Captain Jack Sparrow [sic],’ one replied.

‘I can’t imagine anyone alse playing the captain,’ a follower wrote. ‘It’s impossible! He’s the only Captain Jack Sparrow [sic].’

‘Man – he slipped right into the spirit of Captain Jack Sparrow,’ another marveled.

As one added: ‘The way he just jumps into character is awesome.’

Depp’s appearance comes after it was revealed that he will be getting back out on the road next summer with his band, Hollywood Vampires.

The actor and musician, who won his US defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard earlier this year, is getting ready to perform alongside rockers Alice Cooper and Joe Perry once again, for their first tour in three years.

‘Well, it’s already been three years since the Vampires have toured because of Covid,’ Cooper confirmed.

‘Also, Johnny has his movies, Joe’s in Aerosmith and I’m in Alice Cooper, so we have to look at that whole thing and see when we can all get a month or two off where we can go out and tour. And, we are going to be doing that, next summer coming up, 2023.

‘I can’t wait to get back with the guys, I really love being in that band. My band is great and wonderful, but playing with the Vampires is an entirely different situation.

‘I don’t necessarily do any theatrics at all, I’m just the lead singer, in a band, and the band just happens to be one of the best bands around! It’ll be great to see Johnny and Joe and Buck and Chris and all the guys.

Their string of dates will end in Glasgow on July 12.
