The world of horror is no stranger to pushing the boundaries and shocking audiences across the globe.
And recently, slasher flick Terrifier 2 shot to public attention after it was reported the film caused multiple viewers to vomit and faint while watching it.
Steve Barton, the film’s producer, shared a warning to fans planning to head to the cinema to see it, writing: ‘This movie contains scenes of graphic violence and brutal depictions of horror. Viewers who are faint of heart, prone to lightheadedness, or have weak stomachs are advised to take extreme caution.
‘There have already been numerous instances of fainting and vomiting in theatres. For those choosing to continue, you’ve been warned.’
Directed by Damien Leone, it is a sequel to 2016’s Terrifier, which in itself was the second feature-length appearance of Art The Clown after Leone first introduced him in 2013 anthology film All Hallows Eve.

He heads back to the town of Miles County to wreak havoc once more, targeting artistic schoolgirl Sienna, her misfit brother Jonathan, and tough mother Barbara who seem supernaturally linked to Art following the death of their father/husband.
So, is it as bad as they say?
Stories pop up periodically at the release of the ‘next big horror film’ claiming to be so scary you’ll be left flinging your popcorn into the air as you flee the cinema.
I was lucky enough to watch the latest installment in the Terrifier franchise, and I can confirm it truly is as gory and violent as they say – and I can definitely believe claims of audience members puking and passing out while watching it.
From the first scenes of the film, you are plunged into the mad and macabre world of Art The Clown and his grotesque crimes.
And with a run time of 138 minutes, viewers are treated to more than two hours of hack-and-slash madness.

There is very little relief between the kill scenes in Terrifier 2, with the audience instead hurtled from brutal murder scene to brutal murder scene in quick succession.
And the horror doesn’t end there because once you’re dead – Art’s cruelty doesn’t stop.
Mixed with the clown’s own disturbing brand of comedy, the gore becomes even more surreal and sickening – there were some moments in the film I wasn’t sure whether to gasp or laugh or maybe both.
However, Terrifier 2 builds on the mythology of Art The Clown and contains a (slightly) more padded-out plot than the first installment of the franchise with characters we get to know better and genuinely care about.
Despite this, there is no doubt the focus in this film is on the blood and guts more than the narrative, with some characters’ actions and overarching plot lines becoming confusing and nonsensical.
But is there anything wrong with that? For me, no.

Terrifier 2 knows exactly what it is and doesn’t stray from that vision – a wild and wacky gorefest from start to finish.
If you’re not a fan of gory movies, this is not the film for you.
There are no ghosts or ghouls in Terrifier 2, with the horror stemming purely from the brutality of its antagonist.
However, if you love a good bloody flick, you’re in for a great time.
Terrifier 2 will make for a great Halloween film to watch with friends as you hide behind your cushions squirming and squealing.
But if the sight of blood makes you feel nauseous or a little faint – this may be one to steer clear of.
Terrifier 2 will be released in the UK on DVD and Blu-ray on Monday, October 24.
