The UK is being battered by torrential rain and thunderstorms amid fears of flooding.
The Met Office has issued a yellow warning for thunder throughout large parts of England and Wales, which has been updated to remain in place until 2am tomorrow morning.
Pictures show heavy surface water on roads across the country, while Brits try to avoid the worst of the downpours.
Some were caught in the heavy rain, with one sodden cyclist battling the weather in south east London.
Heavier downpours are expected overnight this evening, before drying out tomorrow, when there are even some sunny spells on the cards.
The Met Office warned that heavy rain for much of the south could lead to flooding, leaving businesses and homes at risk of damage.
Its warning stretches west almost to Plymouth and east to Norwich, covering Portsmouth to the south and Peterborough north and including London.
‘There is a small chance that homes and businesses could be flooded quickly’, a warning on the Met Office website explained.
It added that there could be ‘damage to some buildings from floodwater, lightning strikes, hail or strong winds.’
The warning also suggested that transport could be affected, including potential road closures and train cancellations.
Met Office Meteorologist Rebecca Hudson said that the risk is mostly confined to central and southern England.

‘There is a weather warning that’s going out from 4am (Sunday) until 5am on Monday, the risk is mostly Central and southern England,’ she said.
‘It’s almost in a sort of triangular shape. So it goes from East Yorkshire roughly down to the Cardiff area, East Devon, to London as well, and East Anglia.’
She added: ‘There are some further heavy showers (tonight).
‘And then as we go in overnight, things will gradually dry out into Monday morning.
‘There will be some heavier showers overnight on Sunday into Monday, but these will gradually weaken and then Monday will be a lot drier with some sunny spells around as well.’
