Married At First Sight UK star Whitney Hughes has opened up about Matt Murray following their split and revealed her ‘regrets’ about the E4 show.
Whitney, a personal assistant, was originally married to Duka on the social experiment programme but fell for Matt, who had tied the knot with Gemma.
Duka and Gemma then made the difficult decision to quit the process, with the experts controversially allowing the barber and Whitney to stay on as a dating couple.
However, during the final episode, Whitney revealed they had split soon after the vow renewals, blaming the difficulties of maintaining a long-distance relationship.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Whitney revealed she has ‘regrets’ about the E4 programme, adding that she wish she’d quit amid the drama.
She explained: ‘Do you know what? I’m gonna say it: I do have regrets. I do have regrets. I kind of wish I had just left the experiment right there and then.
‘And what you guys didn’t see is I actually said that I didn’t know if I did want to stay in the experiment. You guys only saw the part where after I was convinced that I should stay that I then said, “Okay, I would like to stay in the experiment.”‘

‘What I actually turned around and said was, “I’m surrounded by bad vibes. I don’t want to be surrounded by so much negativity. People have such strong opinions. I don’t want to be in that environment.”‘
Whitney also detailed where things stood with Matt, saying the pair were not ‘friends’ and that they ‘didn’t speak anymore.’

Speaking to her followers, she said: ‘The majority of the questions that you guys are asking are if Matthew and I are together? Or are we friends? Do we speak?
‘And the answer to those questions is no, no, no. We don’t speak, we don’t speak anymore. We’re not friends, we won’t be getting back together, ever. That’s all done and dusted, nails in the coffin, unfortunately.

‘I don’t know if it’s unfortunate. I think I experienced what I experienced in an experiment. I learned, I grew from it, I became more vulnerable from it in a good way.
‘And just because I experienced that with Matt, doesn’t mean I have to stay connected to him for the rest of my life.’
She continued: ‘I want him to be happy in his life and don’t want any more bad vibes. I just want to steer clear of all of that unnecessary drama.’
