There was good news and bad news for Kim Tate (Claire King) in tonight’s Emmerdale. The good news is that she’s found her horse, who bolted soon after she discovered the lifeless body of Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton).
The bad news is that it looks like her marriage to Will Taylor (Dean Andrews) is over almost as soon as it began after he accused her of killing Harriet.
Kim was hoping for a bit of sympathy from Will. After all, she’d been through the trauma of discovering Harriet and trying to help her, as well as getting injured herself. Will wasn’t interested, though, as he’s become convinced that Kim took the opportunity of the storm to see off her rival.
‘I think you’re gutted Dan (Liam Fox) found her,’ he said. ‘That wasn’t part of the plan. Did you leave her to die? Or did you kill her?’ He even accused her of bumping her own head to make the accident look more convincing. ‘Harriet was right, he said. ‘You are a monster, Kim.’

Of course Kim certainly had a motive for killing Harriet as she was fully aware that Harriet was set on taking Will from her, and that he had feelings for his ex in return. But viewers know that, on this occasion, Kim is telling the truth about what happened.
Kim is often her own worst enemy, though, and when Will later reiterated that she’d killed Harriet because she felt threatened, Kim replied, ‘I wasn’t threatened! She was a sad, lonely women who you swore you felt nothing for.’ She said she’d given Will the chance to back out.

He replied that he’d thought he knew who was marrying and thought he’d seen her at her worst, ‘But how wrong was I?’ and slapped his wedding ring down on the kitchen counter.
‘It’s a pity we had to go through a farce of a wedding to see what a pathetic disappointment you turned out to be,’ Kim shot back, adding her own rings to the discard pile.
