Man Utd boss will ‘deal with’ Ronaldo over early exit
Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag has said he will “deal with” Cristiano Ronaldo after he exited the game before it finished – heading off down the tunnel.
Ronaldo, 37, left in the 89th minute, shortly after the boss brought on Christian Eriksen and Anthony Elanga.
“I will deal with that tomorrow, not today. We are now celebrating this victory,” said Ten Hag.
“I have seen him, but I haven’t spoken with him.”
Manchester United was winning 2-0 at Old Trafford against Tottenham Hotspurs. Man Utd had only used three of their five permitted substitutions when Ronaldo decided to leave the bench early and disappeared down the Old Trafford tunnel.
It comes just a few days after the Man Utd forward showed his displeasure at being substituted against Newcastle.
