Susanna Reid admits Halloween makes her anxious: ‘It’s gone bonkers’

Susanna Reid has revealed she’s got ‘Halloween anxiety’.

The Good Morning Britain presenter revealed spooky season isn’t exactly her favourite time of year, telling co-star Richard Madeley that it’s ‘gone bonkers’.

‘Am I the only one, but don’t you find that Halloween – it’s a tradition that we’ve inherited in the extent that it’s celebrated in America. I get the Halloween thing, but it’s gone bonkers,’ she said.

Susanna added: ‘And I’ve got Halloween anxiety. Because first you’ve got the costumes, and they’re getting more and more elaborate, and then you’ve got people knocking at your door and you’re not sure if they’re knocking at your door because they want sweets or because they want money.’

She elaborated on Twitter, saying: ‘Halloween-xiety. Who else turns the lights off and pretends they aren’t home? From the costumes to the amount of sweets to the demands for money, I’d rather not answer the door. Sorry kids! #NoColdCallers.’

Some fans have agreed, with one responding: ‘This!! The rule down our road is if you don’t have Halloween decs out don’t knock on the door. My dog gets anxiety every time the door goes so it saves him the stress as well.’

    Halloween-xiety.

One more added: ‘In our village, we have a polite request, which is respected by the kids and any accompanied adults, that if they don’t see pumpkins by front doors, or on window ledges, then they are asked not to knock on doors/or ring doorbells. Never had any problems.’

However, not everyone agrees with Susanna, with some celebs often going all out for the occasion.

Of course, Heidi Klum is known for her extravagant costumes, recently hinting to Metro.co.uk what she’s got in store.

Amanda Holden, Ashley Roberts, Perrie Edwards and Laura Whitmore are also among those who went all out last year.

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
