British military pilots lured to train Chinese military – MoD
Britain’s ex-military pilots are being lured to China to train the Chinese military, it has been claimed. The ex-pilots are being recruited with large sums of money on offer.
Up to 30 former UK military pilots are believed to have gone to train members of China’s People Liberation Army.
The UK is issuing an intelligence alert to warn former military pilots against working with China’s military.
The ongoing attempts to lure British military pilots are ramping up according to officials. At present, the training and the recruiting of pilots do not breach any current UK laws but officials in the UK and other countries are trying to deter the activity.
The ex-pilots are being used to help understand the way in which the Western planes and pilots operate, information which could be vital if there was a conflict – such as over Taiwan.
