He might have only made it a few weeks into Strictly Come Dancing, but Matt Goss has thanked fans for ‘recognizing my heart’ after a challenging stint on the dancefloor.
Star of 80s band Bros, Goss was the latest to be eliminated from the dancing competition, but has said he gained ‘so much from the experience’.
Taking to Twitter early on Monday, Goss said that he was ‘taking the day to decompress’ after his time on the show wrapped up when Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima’s samba was favoured by the judges over his jive with partner Nadiya Bychkova.
‘I came on social media not knowing what to expect and I am completely humbled, and to be honest with you, very emotional at the outpouring and kindness that I have received. We are all complex, thank you for recognizing my heart,’ he wrote.
‘Strictly was out of my comfort zone but I did gain so much from the experience.
‘This moment alone… reading your comments has given me a sense of deep comfort. It was an incredibly big decision to come back to the UK. Thank you for making me feel like I’m home.’
The singer also acknowledged his dance partner for her ‘continued grace and patience’.
‘Not only are you a World Champion, you’re a world class teacher. If any of you see me out and about please come say hello. Tonight definitely feels like I have an extended family. My deepest love and thanks, Matt.’
His post came after an emotional exit, where Goss wiped away tears after failing to pass the dreaded dance-off.

When asked about his time on the hit BBC series, Goss said it had been an ‘extraordinary experience’.
‘Thank you judges for your candour, you’ve helped me in many ways, my posture – Anton, I am more aware of it,’ he said.
‘This lovely lady beside me, a world champion with all the patience. I am very honoured to have danced with you, and everyone who is still in, I love you guys, go smash it guys.’
But it was when Bychkova spoke that he got teary – she had told him that she had been ‘grateful’ that she had not only been able to teach, but dance with a music icon.
‘But, more important than this, I got the privilege to get to know Matt, for who you really are. Not many people know you and you’re a beautiful soul, very kind human and a real gentleman,’ she added.

Last week Goss shared that he had been finding coming out of his shell on the show to be ‘genuinely very challenging’.
While he said that he wished his late mum and sister were there to watch on last night, he was thankful to the British public who had ‘made me feel really welcome’ after recently moving back home after 25 years living in America.
Previously eliminated from the competition have been Kaye Adams and Richie Anderson.
This weekend, Strictly will be celebrating 100 years of the BBC, where the couples will perform to either an iconic BBC theme tune or dance in tribute to one of the channels’ most loved services.
