Rebekah Vardy has been spotted supporting her husband Jamie as he played for Leicester City, after she lost her defamation trial against Coleen Rooney.

The wag donned a baseball cap and an all-black look as she watched on, clapping for her husband and his team as they played against Crystal Palace on Saturday.

The match ended in a 0-0 draw.

Vardy has been keeping a low profile recently after she lost her defamation trial against former friend Rooney and was ordered to pay 90% of her legal costs.

The mother-of-five lost the bombshell trial, dubbed Wagatha Christie, in August when a judge ruled Rooney did not defame her by accusing Vardy’s Instagram account of leaking false stories about her to the press.

Hours after the court’s judgment, Vardy shared a post to her Instagram stories calling on Rooney to put the money to good use.

It featured a quote from a previous article from January 2021 in which a source told The Sun of Rooney: ‘She’d be far happier to see the money they would have spent on lawyers being used in a more positive and productive way,’ while claiming the mother-of-four wanted to drop the libel case instead of going through a trial.

In her Instagram post, Vardy wrote in her own comment: ‘Let’s hope you put your money where your mouth is and some good can come out of this whole embarrassing spectacle.’

A team Rooney insider reportedly told The Mirror in response: ‘It’s a bit rich to be preaching about money when Coleen wanted to settle this before the costs started racking up.’

After winning her case, Rooney also previously said: ‘I never believed it should have gone to court at such expense in times of hardship for so many people when the money could have been far better spent helping others.’

Meanwhile, Channel 4 are adapting the saga into a drama, starring Michael Sheen and Harry Potter actor Natalia Tena.

The programme will juxtapose scenes from the courtroom with analysis from the media, with actors also expected to take on the roles of Wayne Rooney and Jamie Vardy.
