Harry and Meghan’s upcoming docuseries has reportedly left Netflix bosses ‘confused’.
According to reports, a number of scenes appear to directly contradict statements in the Prince’s memoirs.
The show, which already has been pushed from its proposed release date of December, has been described as an ‘at-home with the Duke and Duchess-style’ docuseries.
The news comes after Harry was said to have rewritten large portions of his manuscript after the first draft was rejected by the publisher, who asked for additional chapters pertaining to the Queen’s death.
The memoirs have since been pushed back to 2023.
Harry and Meghan reportedly requested so many edits to their new docuseries that there were fears it could be ‘shelved indefinitely’.
However, Netflix stood firm and told the couple it would be airing the series this winter while demand was at its highest.
‘A lot in the show contradicted what Harry had written, so that was an issue,’ a senior Netflix source told Page Six.

‘Then Harry and Meghan made significant requests [to filmmakers] to walk back content they themselves have provided, for their own project,’ the source added.
Throughout the series, the couple are expected to talk extensively about other members of the royal family, including the Prince and Princess of Wales, King Charles and Queen Camilla.
Royal biographer Tom Bower compared the couple’s numerous back-and-forths on the docuseries and memoirs to being ‘stuck with the devil.’
‘I don’t see how the Sussexes can give up both the Netflix and book deal,’ the author told GB News.

‘They need the money and they need it now more than ever because they’ve got no other source of income. So I think they’re just stuck with the devil now.
‘They’re tied to Netflix, and they’re tied to their book. And all the criticism they’re going to take means nothing because that’s the only way they can earn their money.’
As part of the docuseries, Harry and Meghan were followed for more than a year by camera crews.
They were filmed during visits to New York and in the Netherlands for the Invictus Games as part of the production.
Previous claims about inconsistencies emerged in the wake of Prince Harry and Meghan’s sit-down interview with Oprah Winfrey in March 2021.
It was also dogged by claims of behind the scenes edits by the couple.
Meanwhile, Netflix is said to be under fire amid reports that The Crown will show scenes of Prince Philip pursuing an affair with close friend Penny Knatchbull.
The potential move has been criticised by some as being in poor taste so soon after Queen Elizabeth’s death.
