Seagulls are often seen as pests – criticised for stealing people’s chips and causing havoc across the UK.
But one Cornish seagull has got people giggling after it ‘took a selfie’ when someone left their phone recording on the beach.
In the clip, the gull can be seen scurrying past the mobile on Fowey beach.
But, noticing the camera perhaps, it then stops to gaze down the lens.
The hilarious encounter then led to a set of unique images, which make it look like the seagull had taken them itself.
Local shopkeeper Victoria Clark, who was taking a time-lapse video of her swim, came back to the surprising footage.
She said: ‘I was having a swim and the beach was quite quiet so I did a time-lapse.
‘I played it back and saw the seagull but didn’t think anything of it. It wasn’t until I uploaded it to TikTok and had to slow it down when it popped up in front of me.

‘It was like those jump scares on Facebook, it’s hilarious he looks right into the camera and then turns his face in another pose.
‘I screenshot it and sent it to my sister, and now its everyone’s screensaver because it’s so funny.’
The photos has proved so popular with people that Victoria has decided to create some postcards of the seagull to sell in her shop.
She added the bird can often be spotted around her beach shop, so customers may well be lucky enough to get a signed copy as well.
