Summary of the front page

The Metro leads with the hospital nurse accused of murdering seven babies. Lucy Letby, 32, denies seven counts of murder and 10 counts of attempted murder.

The paper reports that a worried mother interrupted Letby while the nurse was allegedly attacking her son. The jury heard she tried to reassure the mother by telling her: “Trust me I’m a nurse”.

The front page also features a story on the National Grid accusing them of hypocrisy as, despite their warning that Britain could face blackouts this winter, the company HQ had lights left on hours after most staff had left the building. “National Gridiots,” the paper says.
