It’s that time of year again when kids can attend some fabulously spooky events (Picture: Getty)

Wondering how to celebrate Halloween this year with the kids? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.

It’s October and you know what that means… dressing up and getting to some ghoulish gatherings. If for you, Halloween is all about fun with the family then look no further for some spooky celebrations.

If you fancy getting creative, dressed up and going out to party, then we’ve curated the best events for children and the family to enjoy this October.

Legoland Windsor has lots of spooky sights to see (Picture: Legoland)

    Brick or Treat

    Legoland Windsor

    Tickets from £39pp

If you want to go all out, then this fang-tastic party for your little monster will do just the trick. For the whole of October Legolands Brick-or-Treat will debut a monstrous new 4D movie ‘The Great Monster Chase!’.

But the fun doesn’t end there. Be prepared to don your best spooky outfit as the Resort receives its most extravagant Halloween makeover to date.

Knights Kingdom will be transformed into the Creepy Cobweb Castle and there are supersize, joke-telling LEGO Pumpkin and skeleton heads, LEGO-inspired bats, mini pumpkins and spiders that will decorate the theme park.

Of course, you will have access to all the classic Legoland rides and attractions including Halloween favourite, The Haunted House Monster Party. Just add fangs.

Kidzania has had a spooky makeover this October (Picture: Kidzania)

    Festival of Fright

    Kidzania

    From £16

Wander down the cobbles of Kidzania and discover the creepy clues for a Halloween adventure. From 26th October – 5th October, based in buzzing Westfield, Kidzania is an indoor city made for kids.

From doctor’s surgeries to working at the airport- there’s plenty for children.

This autumn there will also be an extra special Halloween theme. With a whistlestop ghost tour and a stage where they can dress up and dance, let the frightful fun begin!

Bring on the boo-tiful biscuit fun at Biscuiteers (Picture: Biscuiteers)

    Biscuiteers

Join the spectacular icing school as you make some creepy creations using the finest icing on Halloween-shaped biscuits. There’s a choice between a short tutorial then letting you design your creations, or, if you prefer a more in-depth lesson for the more established baker then the Ministry of Icing is an excellent choice.

Master all the magic skills including colouring, piping, feathering, line and flood icing to make dashing designs for a stylish-looking Halloween biscuit. Almost… too good to eat.

This year Peppa Pig World has had a Halloween makeover (Picture: Peppa Pig World)

    Happy Halloween

    Peppa Pig World

    From £39.75

Peppa Pig world will play host to a plethora of spooky fun this October. The attractions will all be decorated in enchanting decor and there will be Halloween style in every corner- even Peppa and his friends will be having a full makeover!

There will be a spook-tacular show, The Legend of Paultons Manor, returning for another fancy Halloween season.

If you love a photo opportunity then your little ones will revel in running around the pumpkin patch, and be able to enjoy The Tornado of Springs which features Halloween decorations from way out west.

On 25th, 26th and 27th the park will stay open till 7.30 pm if you fancy enjoying some rides and attractions at dusk. Spine-tingling.

Go for a witchy walk with Dennis, Gnasher and friends (Picture: Eltham Palace)

    Halloween Half-Term Walk

    Eltham Palace

    From £10.60

On the more healthier end of the scale is this offering from historic Eltham Palace. Run amok through their gardens in their Halloween half-term walk, all the while following the creepy clues from Dennis, Gnasher and friends.

Eltham Palace is a great place to discover with a vast quirky mix of medieval and modern gardens. There will be costumed performers telling spooky tales, and you can even walk through formal rose gardens and relax in the Rock Garden, with its pools and cascades running down to the moat.

There you will find London’s oldest working bridge which you can cross over to an adventure in the playground inspired by the Courtaulds’ love of travel.

Get the glowsticks out at Raver Tots (Picture: Raver Tots)

    Raver Tots Halloween Event

    Ministry of Sound

    From £11

Like a good knees-up? Want something for all the family? Then get your glow sticks out for the Raver Tots Halloween Special.

Playing the best in house, drum and bass and garage, with many DJ’s including Matt Jam Lamont from Kisstory the raver tots is for babies upwards who like to enjoy dancing and playing to some beats.

If that wasn’t enough they also will have a host of dancers, performers, cold pyro, bubbles, festival-sized confetti blasts, multi-coloured lasers and lighting, parachute games, giant balloons, a licensed bar for the grown-ups and face painting!

But don’t worry about messing with the kid’s schedule, it’s an afternoon event so they will be adequately tired out and home in time for their usual bedtime.

Dress in all your finery for the deadliest disco around!

Candyland never looked so good. (Picture: Chessington)

    Family Howl ‘o’ ween

    Chessington World of Adventures

    From £39

If your child goes absolutely wild when it comes to trick or treating then you’ll want to sign them up for the epic Candyland session. Join Emily and Evie as they search for sweeties everywhere while enjoying all the sights and sounds of Chessington (hello epic sugar rush).

There will also be live shows, a witch takeover, evil villains and a fire show. Children will have a blast getting dressed up to go on the rides which are suitable from toddler upwards.

Most rides are variable by height so you can be sure to find something for all the family, from tiny tots to tweens to teens. Fancy dress recommended!

From creepy crawlies to kings of the jungle, London Zoo is home to its fair share of phobias (Picture: LZ)

    Top Trumps

    London Zoo

    From £18.04

Can you play top Trumps with an animal? We’d like to think so.

This October half term London Zoo is offering a whole host of creepy creatures combined with a top trumps trail for little ones.

This spooky soiree will include picking a tournament card and an animal of your choice and then seeing if yours is the speediest!

The competition will be fierce (depending on the animal) and there will also be a very special event in the Terrace Restaurant where you can design your own animal-inspired trump card.

Handily, under 3’s also get into the Zoo completely free and with other 19,000 species to ogle at, there is plenty of fun for toddlers too.

When one is not enough, head to the farm for PYO (Picture: Crockbridge)

    Pumpkin Picking

    Crockbridge Farm, Surrey

    From £2

Does anything scream October more than a countryside pumpkin patch? We think not.

An American concept by nature, the October PYO is now an English staple too. Grab your kids and head to Crockbridge Farm in Surrey, who are veterans in the pumpkin patch picking sessions (they’ve been doing it for 15 years and harvest many different types of squashes).

There are a wide variety of pre-harvested pumpkins available every day and children will love roaming in the fields. They even have a market at the end of the season where you can stock up on any extras.

It’s a great family-orientated day out… plus we think the pumpkin photo ops are always a good idea.
