Ant Middleton insists he would be on Matt Hancock’s ‘case’ after spotting a major faux pas in his workout routine.
It was recently reported that the former health secretary could join the latest line-up of stars in the gruelling Channel 4 series, which is also rumoured to include former Pop Idol star Gareth Gates, and Towie’s James Argent.
A spokesperson for Mr Hancock said in a statement sent to Metro.co.uk: ‘Matt gets a huge number of offers and is asked to appear on TV shows all the time but he has not signed up to anything.’
A Channel 4 spokesperson also said: ‘In the best traditions of the SAS, this mission is confidential. However, full details will be released when the series broadcasts next year.
Former UK SAS frontman Ant believes the politician could go pretty far on the show, however, the chief instructor already knows how he would whip Mr Hancock into shape.
‘I think he will be alright in it you know,’ he said.

‘I saw him doing press-ups and in the photo he was doing the press-ups wrong. So I was thinking straight away, “I’d pick you up. I’d be on your case, Matt,”‘ he added to The Sun.
Ant, 42, left the survival series last March. At the time, the network said that he would not be making future series of Who Dares Wins due to ‘personal conduct’
Several people had also complained about ‘inappropriate comments’ towards female staff members on set, which he dismissed as ‘indirect and just military banter’.
Channel 4 said in a statement: ‘Ant Middleton will not be taking part in future series of SAS: Who Dares Wins.

Although the TV personality currently fronts the Australian edition of the programme, he branded the UK version ‘soft.’
‘I don’t watch it,’ he said.
‘A lot of celebrities ring me and tell me they’ve been asked to do the show but won’t, partly out of loyalty to me and partly because they say, “what would I get out of it? It’s gone soft,’ he added to The Sun.
Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins continues on Sunday at 9pm on Channel 4.
