The Guardian – Johnson’s junk food rules under threat as Truss targets red tape
Boris Johnson’s anti-obesity rules are under threat as new prime minister Liz Truss targets red tape, The Guardian reports.
The paper splits its front page to include the moving picture of the Queen’s coffin arriving at the gates of Buckingham Palace as well as the exclusive story on the UK government potentially scrapping its entire anti-obesity strategy.
The main story says ministers have ordered an official review of the measures currently in place that aim to stop people eating junk food. The review may result in Prime Minister Liz Truss lifting the ban on sugary products being displayed at checkouts and “buy one get one free” deals in shops.
