Canada stabbings: Manhunt after killing spree in Saskatchewan

Canadian police are hunting two men who are suspected of stabbing at least 10 people to death in a rampage that has rocked the nation.

The two men – named as Damien Sanderson and Myles Sanderson – are on the run and are considered armed and dangerous.

The victims were found in 13 locations in the remote indigenous community of James Smith Cree Nation and nearby Weldon.

At least 15 others were injured in what the police are calling one of the deadliest acts of mass violence in Canada. The Canadian PM says it was “heartbreaking.”

Police have urged residents to be vigilant as they conduct a manhunt across Saskatchewan – one of the country’s largest and most remote regions.

As news of the stabbings broke, a dangerous person alert was sent to all mobile phones across the provinces of Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Alberta – a region which is almost half the size of Europe.

There has yet to be a comment on a potential motive for the crimes.

There have been no further details on the two men or what their relationship is. But police have said there could be more injured people than they currently know about.
