Rishi Sunak’s billionaire wife ‘saves millions on UK taxes with non-dom status’
The Metro says Rishi Sunak’s wife does not pay taxes to the British government for money she earns abroad, it has been revealed.
Akshata Murty, who is said to be richer than the Queen with an estimated net worth of £430 million, holds non-domicile status in the UK, The Independent reports.
She runs her own fashion label, Akshata Designs, and is the daughter of billionaire entrepreneur N.R Narayana Murthy – the sixth-richest man in India who founded IT company Infosys, which she has a stake in.
While most people in the UK pay taxes on all of their income – no matter where it comes from – Ms Murty is only taxed on what she earns inside the country.
