    Russia has used vacuum bomb

Russia has used vacuum bomb in Ukraine. The banned thermobaric weapon was used during fighting in Ukraine on Monday, the Ukrainian ambassador to the US told American lawmakers in a briefing.

“They used the vacuum bomb today, which is actually prohibited by the Geneva convention,” Oksana Markarova told reporters after emerging from the congressional briefing.

The vacuum bomb is the largest and most powerful bomb in Russia’s arsenal outside nuclear.

Satellite imagery company Maxar Technology says that earlier reports indicating the column of Russian armour advancing on Kyiv are 17 miles (27km) long are inaccurate.

The convoy actually stretches about 40 miles.
