At least six people killed in stampede outside football game at Africa Cup of Nations
The Metro says At least six people have been killed in what has been described as a stampede outside a football stadium hosting an Africa Cup of Nations game in Cameroon.
The incident happened as crowds struggled to gain access to the Olembe Stadium in the capital city of Yaounde ahead of the last-16 match against Comoros Islands.
Naseri Paul Biya, governor of the central region of Cameroon, said there could be more casualties while officials at a nearby hospital said they had received at least 40 injured people from the stampede.
