Family of jailed Insulate Britain protester beg strangers to help pay his rent
The Daily Express says THE FAMILY of an Insulate Britain campaigner jailed for his role in a series of high-profile protests on Britain’s motorways has begged strangers to pay his London rent while he’s behind bars.
Oliver Rock was one of nine protesters jailed last Wednesday for contempt of court after they broke an injunction banning them from blocking the M25. Rock, 41, was jailed for four months but now, his family have launched a crowdfunder to help him cover his £700-a-month rent while he is in prison.
And they’ve already raised more than £3,100 – significantly more than the average monthly pay packet in the UK.
