Liverpool terrorist had been buying parts for homemade bomb for seven months

The Daily Mirror says Liverpool bomber Emad Al Swealmeen had been buying parts for his homemade device since at least April, the head of Counter Terrorism Policing North West Russ Jackson said.

Hero taxi driver David Perry was interviewed for 90 minutes yesterday by counter-terrorism officers investigating the bomb blast at Liverpool Women’s Hospital.

The father of two had a miracle escape after a home-made device strapped to his passenger Enzo Almeni exploded in the back of his cab.

Assistant Chief Constable Russ Jackson, Head of Counter Terrorism Policing North West, has said in an update: “The taxi in which the device exploded has now been removed and today line searches by specialist officers will take place at the Hospital which could go into tomorrow.
