Dean Smith announced as new Norwich City manager following Aston Villa dismissal
The Daily Mirror says Dean Smith has officially been named as the new manager of Norwich City, signing a two-and-a-half-year contract at Carrow Road.
The former Aston Villa manager has taken over from Daniel Farke, who won his last Canaries game away to Brentford before the international break, and his first task will be to lift his new club off the foot of the Premier League table.
Smith, who spent three years with Villa and led them up to the Premier League in 2019, has signed a two-and-a-half year deal with his new club.
The 50-year-old has agreed a deal until 2024 with his new club, with assistant manager Craig Shakespeare joining him in East Anglia after the pair worked together at Villa Park.
