England miss out on T20 World Cup final after last-gasp New Zealand heroics with bat
The Daily Mirror says New Zealand are into the T20 World Cup final after the batting heroics of Daryl Mitchell and Jimmy Neesham led them to a five-wicket win over England.
In the 2019 ODI World Cup final, it was Kane Williamson’s side who snatched defeat from the jaws of victory, eventually losing to England after a Super Over, but they gained a measure of revenge in a thrilling finish in Abu Dhabi.
Chasing 167 to win, the Black Caps were seemingly up against it at 110-4 in 16 overs, but Neesham smashed 27 off just 11 balls whilst Mitchell cracked 72 not out off 47 balls, hitting the winning boundary still with an over to spare.
