Petrol station worker ‘attacked and racially abused’ by moped driver
The Metro says a petrol station worker who was attacked by a moped driver looking for fuel says she has been racially abused repeatedly during the panic buying frenzy.
Nerali Patel was attacked by a manic customer who tried to jump the queue and fill his tank up, despite being told the station had run dry.
The 38-year-old mum, who is of Indian heritage, was struck on the face and knocked to the floor before being called a p**i.
It happened on Sunday just as she was shutting down the pumps after the last drops of fuel had been dished out to drivers who had been waiting for hours.
