Approve Covid jabs for children as NHS is ‘ready’ to go into schools, Gavin Williamson says
The i says the Education Secretary has piled pressure on scientists to give the green light to Covid jabs for children, saying the NHS has the capacity to start administering vaccines to under-16s.
Gavin Williamson said the NHS is ready to send health staff into schools to deliver the jabs, as he stressed that “as a parent” he would like to choose whether his children receive the vaccine.
Speaking to Sky News, Mr Williamson said: “We have got the capacity to be able to deliver vaccinations for children as well as to deliver a booster programme. It’s a situation about making sure that we combat this virus as best as possible.”
