UK Travel News: Caribbean countries at risk of joining red list
Experts have predicted a number of Caribbean islands are at risk of being added to the UK’s travel red list in the next travel update. The experts add that very few countries are likely to be added to the green list.
Looking at the latest Covid rates, analysts from the PC Agency predict that Jamaica, St Lucia and Dominica, and the north African nation of Morocco, could be downgraded from amber to red at the UK government’s review of the traffic light lists, expected later this week.
They also suggested that eight green list countries could move to the amber list, the Telegraph reports Israel, Croatia, Madeira, Lithuania and Montserrat, and the Caribbean islands of Anguilla, Antigua and Turks and Caicos.
Poland, Bhutan, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Saudi Arabia are the only countries predicted to be moved to the green list.
Meanwhile, 82 “cowboy” travel testing firms have been issued a warning for advertising misleading prices.
Health secretary Sajid Javid said 82 businesses were being sent a two-strike warning while a further 57 were being removed from gov.uk’s “find a travel test provider” page altogether.
