PM under pressure to take a stand against human rights abuses in China with huge majority backing action
The i says Boris Johnson is under renewed pressure to take action against human rights abuses in China after a majority of the British public backed a stronger Government stance.
Most Britons, and a huge majority of Tory voters, said they want the Government to unite with the international community and take a stand to end human rights abuses in Xinjiang against the Uighur Muslims and the curtailing of democratic freedoms Hong Kong.
They would support not working with companies linked to exploitation and said athletes should be supported if they choose to protest against China’s human-rights record at the upcoming winter Olympics in Beijing.
