99% of pregnant women admitted to hospital with Covid haven’t been vaccinated
The Metro says: More than 99% of pregnant women admitted to hospital with Covid-19 are unvaccinated, scientists have found.
Researchers at Oxford University also say that the Delta variant poses a significantly greater risk of severe disease, with one in 10 pregnant women in hospital requiring treatment in intensive care.
In a study, published in an online server called medRxiv, the scientists called the findings ‘concerning’.
They said it showed the impact of vaccinations, which give pregnant women effective protection from the risk of becoming severely ill from Covid
