On Sunday, Israir, an Israeli airline, launched the first direct commercial flights between Israel and Morocco since the two countries repaired diplomatic relations last year according to an agreement brokered by the United States.

Yair Lapid, Israel’s foreign minister, said last week that he will visit Morocco soon after the Israir service began.
Morocco was one of four regional states to normalize ties with Israel in 2020, along with Bahrain, Sudan, and the United Arab Emirates.
