Green and amber list changes will create two-tier system for UK holidaymakers, airlines warn
The i says airlines have accused the Government of “double standards” and creating a two-tier system for British holidaymakers amid widespread dismay at last night’s changes to the traffic light system.
Steve Heapy, chief executive of Jet2, said he did not understand ministers’ decision to strike Spain’s Balearic Islands off the green list, adding that the company would look at providing additional flights for stranded Britons.
Speaking to BBC Radio 4’s Today programme, he said: “We have a two-tier system: for the average person travel is beyond them because they have to pay for tests when they get back.”
